This trip was so well choreographed from beginning to end! And Amy was still checking in / providing details once it began. The minibus driver, Jim Martini, was outstanding, a great combination of expertise, patience and knowledge. The properties we stayed at were great. Westin Washington Dulles airport had everything we needed and served nice, private full breakfasts both mornings. Boar's Head Resort was lovely. There was sometimes a wait get a cart to take guests and their luggage to their rooms, and a few bags that didn't get picked up before departure. The only surprise for such a nice property, through, was the lack of knowledge and equipment at the front desk. They couldn't print invoices, but hand wrote email addresses to send them later. Several of us used the minibar and were told they could not charge us on departure as they had to wait until later, after the rooms were cleaned. All of this delayed our group departure by 15-20 min. The Williamsburg Lodge was great, with an accommodating staff and restaurant on site. Our guides for DC nighttime tour, Gettysburg, and Charlottesville were all very knowledgable. We have to especially call out Richard at U of Virginia, a gem. The restaurants chosen for us were excellent--Michie Tavern, Shields Tavern, as were the sandwiches prepared for us the day we went to Shenandoah NP. Laurel was a great guide for Wmburg, Jamestown and Yorktown.. All the touring selected for us was interesting and varied. The highlight? Possibly the Civil War museum and Cyclorama. We're looking forward to our next trip with MARS!
